This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior managers who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management decisions.

Practical application of management theories will assist you in developing skills required to take action in different and often challenging situations involving staff, guests, clients, suppliers, local government and other stakeholders. In the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management you will grow your skills in developing and implementing management strategy to ensure business goals are reached at a global level.

Course content includes development of your understanding in the areas of:

Commencing with the foundations of customer service, the course covers operational aspects of hotel services (front office, housekeeping, food and beverage) extending to developing skills in supervision and business management.

Students are required to complete 33 Competency Units (16 Core Units and 17 Elective Units) in 12 months of full-time study on campus training and 6 months Industry Placement Program (IPP)**.

Industry Placement Program (IPP) ** at William Angliss Institute in Singapore is a work- based learning program which provides students with a deep understanding of hospitality through practical work placement experience. It ensures students achieve practical outcomes and employment readiness.
 
Students participate in an industry placement for 6 months, which will involve exposure to food and beverage service, housekeeping, front office operations or concierge. Students will be placed with approved industry training partners (upon successful interview with the industry partners) and a monthly training allowance will be provided during the period of placement.
 
Specialist resume and interview workshops are also available as part of the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality in preparation for the Industry Placement Program. **IPP posting is subject to the approval of relevant passes by Ministry of Manpower (MOM). Industry
 
Placement will be arranged for qualified students. Students who are not secured with IPP will have to successfully complete a Research Project.

Eligibility
Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and International Students are eligible to apply for the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.

Entry Requirement

Singaporeans & PRs:
Singapore GCE O level or equivalent with minimum of 3 passes (C6 and above) in English, Mathematics and one other or equivalent.

International Students:
Successfully completed Secondary or High School education that is equivalent to Singapore GCE O Level with satisfactory results and attendance.

Other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must be of age 17 and above. 
If you have not completed your secondary studies, you need to be at least 21 years of age with demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements and relevant work experience.

International students must have a good command of written and spoken English. William Angliss Institute English Language entry requirements must be demonstrated by ONE of the following:

Course Completion Criteria

  • Students must be graded as competent in all 33 units including successful completion of the Industry Placement Program (16 Core Units and 17 Elective Units). 
  • Attendance
    • Student Pass Holders are required to maintain a class attendance of 90% and above as per Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) requirements.
    • Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and International students holding a DP/LTVP, are required to maintain a class attendance of 75% and above.

Certification
Upon successful completion of the programme, trainees will receive an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management issued by William Angliss Institute of TAFE.

Articulation
Graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management may wish to apply for William Angliss Institute’s Higher Education program in Australia upon completion.

Mode of Instruction/Delivery
Instruction may include lectures, discussions, excursions, guest speakers, demonstrations, case-studies, practical exercises and activities. The practical Industry Placement Program (IPP) ** provides students with real life application and extension of the skills and knowledge gained in the first 4 terms.
